Just when I thought

this could work, everything goes to hell.
I'm so shortsighted, I forget that it doesn't take much to ruin a person's life.

I guess its better to always be prepared for the worst, than being carefree and enjoying yourself, only to have it blow up in your face a couple of days down the line.

On the other hand, you never know how good you have it, until it gets even worse. So, in any situation, technically you can say you have it good.
