japonica rice nipponbare

is the name of the rice I screen at work. I think I might get fired soon because I draw on the petri dishes when I get bored.

The rice plants come from different "families" and sometimes the "families" are bad because they don't give good results for a maize gene transposon. which just means some of them glow green and some of them glow red and when they don't glow red, they're bad.

So I draw little rice with sad faces saying "I'm from a bad family"

My boss is turkish and she laughs at the pictures. She lives near me too. I wonder if I can go to her house and eat turkish kebabs. hahaha. I will get fired for sure.

we also have a gay grad-student named jonathan. He likes to talk about sex in the lab. That boy needs to find a boyfriend, soon.
